CinemArena in Senegal

An overview of CinemArena in Senegal

The CinemArena caravan is in Senegal

The CinemArena caravan completed its journey through Senegal, focusing on the southern regions of Kolda, Vélingara, and Médina Yoro Foulah. The mission was to connect with local communities, especially young people, by bringing dynamic and interactive experiences directly to them. Alongside public screenings, we organized hands-on workshops in schools and training centers to spark meaningful discussions about the risks of irregular migration and highlight viable alternatives.

Public spaces and screenings

Each evening, public spaces were transformed into open-air cinemas, where films addressing these critical topics were screened. These events were accompanied by discussions with migration experts and returnees, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local youth. To enrich the experience, the caravan also featured vibrant artistic performances, blending traditional and modern art forms to engage audiences in a creative and impactful way.

Our goal is to inspire

Our goal was not only to inform but to inspire. By traveling to remote villages and often-overlooked communities, we ensured that no one was left out of this vital conversation. Reaching people in these specific locations helped foster a sense of empowerment and solidarity, encouraging communities to envision a future built on local opportunities and make informed decisions about migration.
