CinemArena in Tunisia

If you’re ever wondering how did our caravan go in Tunisia, here’s a brief overview!

From Jendouba to Gafsa

The Caravan in Tunisia traveled from August 13th to September 22nd, bringing its vibrant programming to various delegations across Jendouba, Selina, Kasserine, Kairouan, and Gafsa. Throughout this journey, the Caravan connected with diverse communities in each region, fostering local engagement and spreading impactful messages through a variety of interactive events and activities, including trainings, workshops, radio programmes and screening events.

Reaching 8.300 spectators

CinemArena captivated over 8,300 spectators through 34 dynamic awareness-raising events, blending film screenings with a vibrant array of entertainment activities. Youth participation took center stage with 75 artistic performances, bringing fresh energy and creativity to each gathering. Thanks to our partner, ArteStudio, we were able to create a safe, inspiring space where young people could connect, express themselves, and actively contribute to the artistic spirit of CinemArena through theater.

Our partners who made it possible.

Organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), this initiative was made possible also thanks to the support and partnership of Tunisia’s Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Interior, and Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The initiative was also possible thanks to the 100 young volunteers who also contributed to the success of the initiative, and were mobilized through partners such as youth centers, cultural centers, the Tunisian Red Crescent (TRC) and civil society.

Oussama

Today, I feel honored to have taken part in this amazing initiative that facilitated my access to information on the dangers of and alternatives to irregular migration, I understand that I need to train myself, strengthen my knowledge and abilities, such as learning a foreign language or acquiring technical skills, in order to make informed decisions on my future.

1,054 young people took part in 34 workshops.

Workshops and trainings took place with an emphasis on four key strategic pillars: entrepreneurship, vocational training, and job hunting locally and abroad. As part of its strategic objectives to foster youth empowerment, CinemArena also awarded 20 grants to young entrepreneurs.
